Union City Now - July 14, 2014
This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of helping expert treasure hunter, Brant Jones, search my yard for lost money and trinkets.
Brant is a member of the Farmland Fire Department, and President of the East Central Indiana Treasure Hunters.
I came into contact with him via the Randolph County History Facebook page. While he usually prefers to search fields with his metal detector, the fields are planted, so he reached out to other members of the page, to see if they had a site that he could search. Considering that I'm interested in history and coins, and had even considered getting a metal detector, I quickly volunteered.

Law Enforcement Calls Upon ECITH
On Saturday, February 26th, 2011, VP Don Rogers was contacted by local law enforcement who was requesting help. Due to the dark and the 6 inches of new snow we recieved early Saturday morning, law enforcement requested our help in locating a handgun used in a crime the night before.
Don and I arrived on the scene and within 15 minutes - Jackpot!
We were able to find the (loaded) gun and keep it out of the hands of bad guys or even worse, unsuspecting kids.
Law Enforcement was happy and we provided the names of 3 club members who can be contacted around the clock, should a similar situation arise again.
Sure, we love to hunt, but we REALLY love to know that we're making a difference in the community.
Happy Hunting and Keep On Swingin'!
